WHY WINE AND DOCTRINE
At Cana, the best wine was saved for last. So it is with a well-aged bottle and with the faith: old wine and timeless truth, each best shared in good company.

A WORD ON AGED WINE
Buying an aged bottle is always a wager. Often it pays off handsomely: a well-aged wine opens into layers of nuance and a complexity that only time can give.
Often, too, it surprises us. A long journey, imperfect storage, or a tired cork can leave an old wine less than ideal. Either way, every bottle is an experience, and we discover it together.
Should a bottle turn out to be corked, we’ll pour a flight of Châteauneuf-du-Pape or a younger wine of similar quality in its place.
“And no man drinking old, hath presently a mind to new: for he saith, The old is better.”
LUKE 5:39
THE COLLECTION
Our wines are privately procured, and we have decided to donate any excess funds to Am Städel, a small educational center in the heart of Frankfurt and an initiative of members and friends of Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church governed under the authority of the Holy See. It offers talks on the faith, recollections, confession, and a monthly family Mass.
DONATE TO AM STÄDELYou’ll find the IBAN for tax-deductible donations on Am Städel’s contact page.
